Join us in Austin,Texas on Sunday, August 12 in Studio 4C in the CMB Building at the Moody College of Communication!
CAS Lifetime Achievement recipient and sound mixer John Pritchett (Avengers: Infinity War 1 & 2, Jumanji, Dirty Dancing, There Will be Blood) and boom op Patrick Wylie (Queen of the South, Crunch Time, Lazer Team) will discuss microphones and booming techniques on feature films and how the actions of the boom operator can make or break a scene. John and Patrick will go over how their approach to wiring, booming, and mixing on a big-budget feature film. John will also discuss what he expects out of his boom op and utility on set.
We will learn what it takes to put together a cohesive sound department that can tackle any challenge. There will be Q&A, and a few war stories from John over his 30+ year career.
The seminar will be immediately followed by a Mixer Mixer starting at 3pm at Spider House with production audio vendors, demos, prizes, drinks and more! Admission is free, but space is limited at the seminar so be sure to RSVP here to guarantee admission!
