A32 Dante

The A32 Dante features an interface with 64 digital inputs and 64 digital outputs which can be easily integrated into existing Dante networks. Alternatively, with an interconnection of two A32 Dantes, a live recording on the computer of up to 64 channels is possible. In this case, a separate sound card (such as when using the ADAT or MADI ports) is not needed.

The intuitive operating concept and redundancy options, as well as the multiple submix and routing possibilities make the A32 an ideal component of any Dante interconnected system.

Just like the original A32, the A32 Dante also supports the MADI digital audio interface. Up to 64 channels can be transferred using a pair of glass fiber or coaxial cables up to 1.2 miles.

The MIDI over MADI feature allows the A32 to be remote controlled using MIDI data over the MADI cables. The audio transfer between MADI input and output is done with zero latency, so you can daisy-chain multiple A32s without any added latency or delay compensation.

The A32 also offers full ADAT integration. Four ADAYT I/O ports allow use of all 64 analog channels, even without MADI. One of the ADAT connectors can alternately be used as an optical S/PDIF or AES/EBU interface. This port has a sample rate converter inside, so it's easy to use even when the connected unit is not able to sync to an external dock.

On the analog side, the A32 has high quality converter chips with excellent audio performance, supported by a sophisticated analog amplifier circuit.

The gain of each channel can be adjusted separately in 0.5dB steps. The standard levels (+4dBu, +13dBu, and +20dBu) are switched in the analog part, so analog converter performance is unaffected.

Level meters for all 64 analog channels and four TFT displays make the A32 Dante intuitive to use to control channel levels and settings.

A headphone output on the front side allows direct monitoring of any analog or digital signal and also works as a dull-fledged submix bus.

The high quality analog circuit is partnered with a Sharc DSP. The processor takes care of the digital audio with floating point arithmetic and 80 bit wide accumulator so nothing is lost on the digital side.
