The 4466 Core Omnidirectional Headset Microphone combines DPA’s renowned 5 mm capsules with Core+ technology and the Red Dot award-winning headset. These are secure, durable, and flexible headsets for theatre, broadcast, houses of worship and conferencing.

Core+ microphones have the same dynamic range, noise level, and distortion level as the original Core, while providing even more clarity across the entire dynamic range at any SPL.

MicroLock connectors add a locking mechanism and upgraded materials for a longer lifespan when compared to MicroDot, while still being fully backwards compatible with MicroDot connectors (although please note that the lock will not engage unless both components are MicroLock.) This omni mic offers clean and transparent sound quality with lots of headroom. The microphone’s sensitivity is 6 mV/Pa to match the level of the human voice to the general input sensitivity of most wireless transmitters. When powered correctly, the microphone will be able to handle very high sound pressure levels up to 134dB SPL so users can both speak and sing into the mic with no hint of distortion. The max SPL handling is an impressive 144 dB.

3-point ear grips
Most headsets have either a 1-or 2-point gripping system which rests on top of the ear or grips below the ear. This headset relies on a 3-point gripping system, adding a support area behind the ear pressing gently inward. This not only makes the headset sit more securely around the head, but, along with the ergonomic ear grip shape, also makes it extremely comfortable to wear even over long periods.

One-size fits all adjustable PVD-treated frame
The frame is one-size fits all with a simple adjustment mechanism for quick and easy resizing to fit snugly and comfortably around any talent's head.

The headset frame is made of stainless steel and treated with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating that makes it extremely durable. It can tolerate high temperatures and is resilient against impact and abrasion. The coating give the headset a matte, less obtrusive while not adding weight.

The beige and brown versions are treated with a surface that mimics the color of the boom and adds a very distinct expression of the entire headset.

90° cable management system
The headset has its cable guide directly at the back of the headset frame, so that you can easily organize the cables to run unobtrusively down the back of the performers. The cable guide slides from side to side, so it can be moved out of view. The construction also separates the cables from the boom movement, which ensures that cables are not pulled on when the boom is moved to help ensure that the mic cable have a long life. The 4466 uses the standard DPA headset cable (Ø 1.6 mm (.06 in)) which are extremely rugged, shielded from interference, tangle-resistant, and are equipped with an inner core made of Kevlar that withstands rough pulls.  Connectors are equipped with a strain relief.

IP58 certified
The Core Miniatures are IP58 certified. This durability is achieved through a number of defense mechanisms:

• Water-repellent nano-coating of the cover and housing
• Hermetic sealing of the sensitive amplifier at the core of the mic
• Dual gold plating of the diaphragm
