Shure Axient Digital PSM with WMAS

Introducing the Axient Digital PSM In-Ear Monitoring System, Shure's first products making use of the brand new Wireless Multichannel Audio System rules for even greater spectral efficiency, reliability, and control.

Ben Escobedo was kind enough to stop by and take Peter Schneider on an in-depth journey through the impressive capabilities of the system. (If you have questions, leave them in the comments - we'll be watching and answer what we can!)

  • WMAS Innovation
Wideband digital transmission allows four stereo audio channels on a single frequency and allows ADPSM to expand channel count in the future.

  • Spatial Diversity
A groundbreaking new way to transmit RF using two antennas on the same frequency, ensuring dropout-free performance across wide areas while being spectrally efficient.

  • True Digital Diversity Reception
Bodypack architecture contains two separate RF paths each with their own antenna for improved reception and range while using digital transmission modes.

  • Four Transmission Modes:

    • Wideband Digital: Using WMAS, each frequency can handle up to four stereo audio channels or eight mono.
    • Narrowband Digital: Offers more RF output power per frequency for a greater range.
    • Analog FM: Use with ADXR bodypacks and/or backwards compatible with PSM1000 P10R+ receivers. Provides low latency audio with ShowLink remote control (ADXR bodypack only).
    • Point-to-Point: Allows ADPSM transmitters to send audio to Axient Digital receivers.

  • ShowLink & Wireless Workbench Integration:
Comprehensive real-time remote control and networked monitoring.

  • Encryption
AES-256 bit encryption keeps audio paths secure.

The system is expected to start shipping in January, but pre-orders are open now with a non-refundable deposit:

Pre-orders will be fulfilled in order received, so act now for earliest possible delivery.
